Harriett Sosson has created a new series of collages based on her recent travels, some random thoughts, and graffiti.
The result is political, fanciful, and cutting edge.  This is Harriett's second exhibition at SOMA gallery, she returns with twenty-one newly cut and assembled art pieces; a mixture of reproduced photographs from her travels, overlayed with 'time-traveled' images of the past. A Buck Rodger's space ship hovering over the pyramids or a Magritte statuary strolling in a graffiti ladened ghetto, what seems random holds together to create a window of intriguing juxtapositions, "with no concrete direction driving the creative process."
