PENNY BECK
Artist Statement
“Living
by the ocean, I have always been fascinated by the creatures that inhabit it.
Fish in particular capture my imagination, in this series of paintings I am
trying to give the sense of a historical and at the same time, a decorative
feeling to each fish.” The new fish paintings started as a
happy accident!Experimenting on
heavily textured sample boards, I began researching antique fish and marine
drawings, thenpaired
the appropriate fishes to the colorful boards.
